Velas EVM Mainnet is a Layer 1 blockchain network identified by chain ID 106, utilizing Velas (VLX) as its native currency with 18 decimal places. Launched in January 2020, it integrates the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with the eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) framework, enabling the deployment of Ethereum-compatible decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts.
The network is designed for high throughput, capable of processing up to 75,000 transactions per second, with transaction finality achieved in approximately 1.2 seconds. This performance is supported by a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, ensuring scalability and security.
Developers can interact with the Velas EVM Mainnet through various RPC endpoints. These endpoints facilitate seamless integration and interaction with the network for various blockchain applications.
