Lisk is a Layer 2 blockchain network built on the OP Stack and secured by Ethereum. It was launched in May 2024, following a migration from its original blockchain to enhance compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem. This transition aimed to provide a cost-efficient, fast, and scalable infrastructure for decentralized applications.
The network utilizes the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm, allowing LSK token holders to vote for delegates who validate transactions and secure the network. This mechanism supports scalability and decentralization.
Lisk offers an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) equivalent environment, enabling developers to deploy Solidity and Vyper contracts seamlessly. Its integration with the OP Stack ensures future-proofing and high security for applications built on the platform.
The native currency of the Lisk network is Ether, and the network's Chain ID is 1135. Developers can interact with the network through various RPC endpoints. For monitoring and exploring blockchain data, a block explorer is available.
