About Monad
Monad is a Layer-1 blockchain network identified by chain ID 143, utilizing MON as its native token with 18 decimal places. Launched on November 24, 2025, Monad is designed for high performance, offering up to 10,000 transactions per second and sub-second finality. It maintains full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, allowing developers to deploy existing Ethereum smart contracts without modification.
The network employs a custom consensus mechanism called MonadBFT, optimized for parallel execution and low latency, achieving finality in approximately 800 milliseconds. Monad's architecture includes MonadDB, a specialized database optimized for EVM state access, facilitating efficient parallel transaction processing.
Validators on the Monad network can operate using consumer-grade hardware, with recommended specifications including 32 GB of RAM, dual 2 TB SSDs, and a 16-core 4.5 GHz processor. This design promotes decentralized participation and scalability.
For developers and users, Monad provides several RPC endpoints, facilitating seamless interaction with the network. Additionally, block explorers offer transparent access to transaction and block data.
