About XRPL EVM
XRPL EVM is a blockchain network identified by chain ID 1440000. It utilizes XRP as its native token, with 18 decimal places. Developed by Ripple and Peersyst Technology, the XRPL EVM Sidechain was launched on June 30, 2025. This sidechain integrates Ethereum-compatible smart contracts into the XRP Ledger ecosystem, enabling developers to deploy Solidity-based decentralized applications while leveraging XRP's liquidity and the XRP Ledger's performance.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain is a Layer 2 solution connected to the XRP Ledger via the Axelar network, facilitating seamless asset transfers and communication between the two chains.
