About Redbelly Network Mainnet
Redbelly Network is a Layer 1 blockchain platform developed by the University of Sydney in collaboration with CSIRO's Data61. Launched in late 2024, it is designed for the compliant tokenization of real-world assets, enabling asset issuers to create on-chain structured products.
The network employs a leaderless consensus mechanism called Deterministic Byzantine Fault Tolerance (DBFT), which enhances security by preventing forks and mitigating double-spending. It integrates full user identity verification and accountability at the transaction layer using zero-knowledge proofs and verifiable credentials to protect personally identifiable information.
Redbelly Network's native currency is Redbelly Network Coin (RBNT), which is used for transaction fees, staking, and governance within the network. The network has engaged in multiple tokenization projects, including partnerships to tokenize private equity and rent rolls.
The Mainnet is accessible via an RPC endpoint, and the block explorer is available for users to view network activity.
