Dogechain Mainnet is an EVM-compatible blockchain network identified by chain ID 2000. It utilizes Dogecoin (DOGE) as its native currency, with 18 decimal places. The network was launched on August 1, 2022, by the Dogechain team, aiming to expand Dogecoin's utility by enabling smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and tokenization.
Built using the Polygon Edge framework, Dogechain operates on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, offering scalability and energy efficiency. Users can bridge their DOGE to Dogechain, minting wrapped DOGE (wDOGE) tokens at a 1:1 ratio, which can be used for gas fees and interacting with dApps on the network.
