About opBNB Mainnet
opBNB is a Layer 2 scaling solution for the BNB Smart Chain, launched on September 13, 2023. Developed using the Optimism OP Stack, it is designed to enhance transaction throughput and reduce fees by processing transactions off-chain while maintaining security through the mainnet.
As an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible network, opBNB supports decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts, offering a familiar environment for developers. The network achieves high scalability, capable of processing up to 5,000 transactions per second, with average gas fees around 0.001 gwei.
opBNB's architecture includes native account abstraction support, optimizing it for applications requiring high-frequency microtransactions, such as gaming. The network's modular design, powered by the OP Stack, allows for flexibility and future upgrades.
The mainnet launch followed a comprehensive testing phase, during which opBNB processed over 35 million on-chain transactions and deployed more than 150 dApps.
