About Botanix Mainnet
Botanix Mainnet is a Layer 2 blockchain network designed to bring Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility to the Bitcoin ecosystem. Launched in July 2025 by Botanix Labs, it enables developers to build decentralized applications (dApps) on Bitcoin using familiar EVM tools and languages.
The network operates on a federated model, initially supported by a 16-node federation of independent operators, including entities like Galaxy Digital and Fireblocks. This decentralized governance structure ensures no single party has unilateral control over the network.
