About Avalanche C-Chain
Avalanche C-Chain is a blockchain network developed by Ava Labs and launched in September 2020. It serves as the Contract Chain within the Avalanche platform, designed to execute smart contracts compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This compatibility allows developers to deploy Ethereum-based applications on Avalanche with minimal modifications.
The C-Chain utilizes the Snowman consensus protocol, a variant of the Avalanche consensus, to achieve rapid transaction finality and high throughput. This design ensures efficient processing of smart contract operations.
AVAX is the native token of the Avalanche network, used for staking, securing the platform, and paying transaction fees.
