About Mantle
Mantle is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, launched in 2023. It utilizes optimistic rollups to process transactions off-chain, enhancing throughput and reducing fees. The network employs Multi-Party Computation (MPC) nodes to shorten withdrawal times from 7 days to 1–2 days.
Mantle's native token, MNT, serves as both a gas token and a governance token within the ecosystem. It is used for transaction fees, governance voting, staking, and ecosystem incentives. The network's modular architecture separates execution, settlement, and data layers, utilizing EigenDA for efficient data storage.
The Mantle network is identified by chain ID 5000 and uses MNT as its native token.
