About Ink
Ink is a Layer 2 blockchain network developed by Kraken, launched in December 2024. It is built on the Optimism OP Stack and integrated into the Ethereum ecosystem as part of the Superchain. This design aims to enhance decentralized finance (DeFi) by offering sub-second block times and low transaction fees.
The network utilizes Ether (ETH) as its native currency, with 18 decimal places. Its mainnet operates under Chain ID 57073, and it provides RPC endpoints for both HTTPS and WebSocket protocols. Developers can access the network through various endpoints.
Ink's integration into the Superchain facilitates interoperability, allowing seamless asset transfers across connected chains. This structure supports the deployment of Solidity-based smart contracts, enabling developers to build and scale DeFi applications efficiently.
