Metis Andromeda Mainnet is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, launched on November 19, 2021. It utilizes its native token, METIS, for transaction fees, reducing reliance on Ethereum's native currency. The network employs a Hybrid Rollup architecture, combining Optimistic Rollups with Zero-Knowledge proofs to enhance scalability and security.
