Integration model | One RPC URL pattern across supported chains, with routing across available upstream providers. | An endpoint and infrastructure platform with RPC and additional products.Official docs |
Billing unit | Published price per million requests for each chain, method, and routing strategy. | Method-weighted API credits, bundled allowances, and plan-specific overage rates.Official docs |
Routing choice | Economy prioritizes cost; performance prioritizes latency. Both include failover across available providers. | A Quicknode integration uses its platform. Cross-vendor routing is the distinction offered by RouteMesh.Official docs |
Agent integration | Local stdio MCP, public pricing APIs, and management tokens for balance, usage, and keys. | Hosted MCP with OAuth or API-key authentication, live RPC, account usage, and endpoint management.Official docs |

Compare the relevant planWe compare monthly Build, Accelerate, and Scale by credit cost. Business, Enterprise, annual contracts, and trial allowances are not modeled.
Check your actual requirementsEstimates exclude tax, gas, discounts, add-ons, and extra throughput capacity. They assume steady traffic within plan limits. Other terms can change the result.

When RouteMesh fits
Standard RPC across multiple providers, with cost-focused or latency-focused routing.
- You want provider selection and cross-provider failover in the routing layer.
- You need one integration across the supported chain catalog.
- You want route prices, balance, usage, and key management through APIs.
When Quicknode fits
Quicknode is a strong fit when you want its endpoint-management platform, Streams, Webhooks, or other platform products alongside RPC, and a bundled plan suits your usage.
- You use Quicknode platform products beyond standard RPC.
- A bundled plan’s endpoints, throughput, and support match your requirements.
- You prefer a hosted MCP connection with OAuth and infrastructure-management tools.

Integration quick start- 01
Map the requirements
List your chains, methods, archive depth, and platform-specific APIs.
- 02
Create an RPC key
Choose economy or performance. Keep management tokens separate from RPC keys.
- 03
Test the endpoint
Use https://lb.routeme.sh/rpc/1/YOUR_RPC_API_KEY for Ethereum. Check responses, errors, batch behavior, and log limits.
- 04
Measure the result
Use equivalent requests and regions. Compare p50/p95 latency, failures, throughput, and actual billing.
Common questions
Are Quicknode API credits the same as RPC requests?
No. Convert each method’s request count into API credits before applying the plan allowance and overage rate. The Ethereum eth_call example on this page uses 20 credits per call.
Is the cheapest plan in this example always the right plan?
No. The example compares credit costs on Build, Accelerate, and Scale with monthly billing. Business, Enterprise, annual discounts, peak throughput, endpoints, support requirements, and additional products can change the decision.
Can I keep my existing JSON-RPC client?
For supported standard RPC calls, you can usually retain the client and change the endpoint. Quicknode-specific products, custom methods, Streams, and Webhooks require their own migration plan.
